If you are running late, continue to the task and let the Customer know as soon as possible.
Note that Hyer is not the Customer and cannot advise on the Customer's policies regarding late arrivals. Each Customer has the right to turn someone away who arrives late to a task, but they may be okay if you arrive slightly late. This is why it is imperative to communicate via the Customer chat and always try to be on time.
What Should I Do?
- Open your scheduled task in the Hyer app.
- Select the Contact Customer chat icon in the upper-right corner.
- Tell the Customer you are running late and provide your estimated arrival time.
- Review the task instructions, including any specific arrival or check-in directions.
- Continue to the task and arrive as soon as you safely can.
- DON'T FORGET TO TAP THE PROMPTS! You still need to tap the prompts when you arrive, 'I've Started Working'. (Task Prompts: When to Tap On The Way, I've Started Working, and I'm Done)
📌 Be sure to message the Customer through the chat connected to your scheduled task. If you contact Tasker Support or use a different chat, the Customer will not receive your message.

Review the Check-In Instructions
Pay close attention to the task’s check-in instructions. Depending on the task’s scheduled start time and the Customer’s procedures, the location may be locked down or access may be restricted if you arrive late.
Following the listed check-in instructions and communicating with the Customer will help you determine how to enter the location and where to report when you arrive. You still must properly check in!
Can I Stay Later to Finish the Task?
Tasks are intended to be completed during the hours listed in the Hyer app. Do not assume that arriving late means you can continue working beyond the task’s scheduled end time. This would need to be approved by the Customer.
Communicate with the Customer about what can be completed during the remaining scheduled time.
Can I Finish the Task Another Day?
No. You cannot return on a different day to finish the same scheduled task. If the Customer needs you to return, they must create a new task for the correct date and timeframe. You also need to ensure that you finish requesting payment only for the work you completed on the current task and close it out before attempting to work again.
Task prompts may become unavailable outside the scheduled task window, and if you do not tap the prompts correctly, it could affect your ability to check into another task or request payment.
Don’t Just Miss the Task
Running late does not mean you should simply stop communicating or fail to arrive. Not showing up without properly canceling will result in a No-Show breach and a zero-star rating.
If your circumstances change and you are no longer able to complete the task, notify the Customer and properly cancel the task in the Hyer app. See, I Can’t Make It to My Scheduled Task. How Do I Cancel My Task?
