We understand that things come up, and if you’re scheduled for a task and can no longer make it, let the Customer know (via the Customer chat) and cancel your task in the Hyer app as soon as possible.
Do not simply miss the task or ask the Customer to cancel it for you.
How Do I Cancel My Scheduled Task?
If you know you cannot make it:
- Message the Customer using the in-app chat to let them know you will not be able to make it.
- Open the Hyer app and tap the Task icon in the main navigation.
- Locate, and either:
- Tap on the ellipses and tap 'Cancel this Task'
- Or open the task and tap the pencil icon, and select Cancel this task.
Once canceled, the task will move to the Archived section of your Tasks and show a status of 'Canceled'.
📌Note that it is NOT the Customer's responsibility to cancel a task for you. Messaging the Customer does not cancel your task; messaging the Customer helps maintain a positive relationship with the Customer when they know why you needed to cancel. You must complete the cancellation through the Hyer app.
What Happens If I Cancel My Scheduled Task?
Whether a cancellation results in a breach depends on how much time remains before the task's scheduled start time.
Canceling More Than 6 Hours Before the Task
- If you cancel more than 6 hours before the scheduled start time, you will not receive a Late Cancellation breach.
Canceling Within 6 Hours of the Task
- If you cancel within 6 hours of the scheduled start time, your account will receive a Late Cancellation breach and a zero-star rating for the task.
- There are limited exceptions, such as when a Customer schedules you for a task with fewer than 6 hours remaining before the start time.
📌 Private Tasks: If you accept a Private Task within 6 hours of its start time, you are still committing to completing that task. Canceling or failing to show up will result in a breach.
What If I Just Don't Show Up and Don't Cancel?
Do not simply miss the task without canceling.
If you are scheduled for a task and do not arrive or properly cancel, you may be marked as a No-Show, which will result in a breach and a zero-star rating for that task.
If you know you cannot make it, cancel as soon as possible—even if it results in a Late Cancellation breach. Canceling gives the Customer an opportunity to find another Tasker.
Will Canceling Affect My Hyer Account?
A cancellation made within the Late Cancellation window or a No-Show will result in a breach on your account.
Customers cannot see the number or types of breaches on your account. However, Customers may remember previous Late Cancellations, No-Shows, or attendance concerns, which can affect whether they choose to select you for future tasks.
