When you apply for a Task, there may be multiple Taskers applying for the same opportunity. Customers then review applicants for that task and choose which Tasker to schedule.
š Applying for a Task does not mean you are scheduled to work it.
While there is no way to guarantee you will be scheduled for a Task, there are several steps you can take to give yourself the best chance of being a great candidate that the Customer will want to pick.
1) Before Applying for a Task
Always review the entire Task posting before applying. Tasks posted by the same Customer can have different requirements, even if you have completed a similar Task before.
Before applying:
- Review the location and make sure you have reliable transportation to make it to and from the Task. Keep in mind that you may not have payment confirmed for 24 hours.
- Check the date and start time to make sure you are available.
- Review the expected Task length and make sure you can work the entire Task.
- Read all Task information and instructions, including any additional Task information linked within the posting.
- Review the dress code and requirements, as these can vary by Customer, location, and Task.
- Only apply for Tasks you are prepared and available to complete.
2) Keep Your Profile Updated
Customers can review information on your Hyer profile when considering applicants. Keeping your profile complete and up to date can help Customers understand your skills and experience.
Make sure your profile includes:
- A clear and appropriate profile photo.
- See this article for more information: Profile Picture Requirements: What is Photos are Acceptable?
- An updated About Me/Bio section
- Your relevant Skills and Work Experience
- See this article to learn more: How to Add or Update Your Skills and Work Experience
- Any applicable certificates or qualifications
3) Build a Strong Reputation
Your performance on previous Tasks can affect whether a Customer chooses to work with you again.
When you are scheduled for a Task:
- Arrive on time and be prepared to work.
- Read and follow all Task instructions.
- Follow the Customer's dress code and workplace requirements.
- Communicate professionally with Customer staff.
- Complete the Task as instructed by on-site personnel (for supervised tasks).
- Avoid Late Cancellations and No-Shows.
Providing a positive experience can help build your reputation with Customers and may increase your chances of working with them again.
4) Turn On Notifications
Make sure notifications are enabled in both the Hyer app and your phone settings.
Notifications can help you learn about new Task opportunities and Private Offers when they become available.
- See "How Do I Manage My Hyer Notification Settings?" for more information.
5) Check Your Task Filters
Your filters determine which available Tasks you see. If you aren't seeing many opportunities:
- Review any filters you have applied.
- Increase your search radius to see Tasks farther from your location.
- Check the Find Tasks screen regularly for new opportunities.
6) Keep Applying
Don't get discouraged if you aren't scheduled for every Task you apply for. Remember, there may be multiple applicants for an open task.
Continue checking the app and applying for Tasks that fit your:
- Schedule
- Location
- Skills and experience
- Availability
Applying to different Customers and Task types can also give you more opportunities to work. If you apply to only one task type or Customer, it can reduce your chances.
What Should You Do If You Aren't Scheduled for a Task
If you apply for a Task and aren't scheduled, continue looking and applying for other opportunities.
Do not contact the Customer to ask why you weren't scheduled or attempt to pressure the Customer into choosing you. You must also never show up if you are not listed as 'Scheduled' in the task status.
ā ļø Never begin work unless you are scheduled and approved to work the Task.
Not sure if you're scheduled? See How Do I Know If I'm Scheduled and Approved to Work a Task? for more information.
