📌 This article applies to 1099 Task payments through Stripe. If you work W2 Tasks, pay is processed through Ascen. Click here for W2 payment information.
After you complete a Task and request payment, the Customer has up to 24 or 72 hours to review your work and confirm payment, depending on the circumstances.
It is very important that you plan your schedule and transportation to allow for this timeframe in case the Customer takes the full 24 or 72 hours to review for payment.
Please do not reach out to the Customer directly or via chat to pressure them into confirming payment. The Customer who confirms payment may not have been on site with you and may be relying on information from their team about what work was completed, so it is important to allow them the time they need to confirm your pay is accurate.
When does payment review take 24 hours vs. 72 hours?
Up to 24 Hours:
- You complete the Task and request payment for the posted amount or less.
Up to 72 Hours:
- When you request payment for more than the posted task amount.
- Example 1: The task is posted for 4 hours, but you request 5 hours of pay.
- Example 2: The task is posted for 300 cases, but you request payment for 322 cases.
- Geo-tagging issues with your photos for a survey.
When do the 24- or 72-hour periods start?
The 24- or 72-hour payment review period begins after you tap "I'm Done" and complete your payment request — not when the Task was scheduled to start or when you arrived at the location.
Simply tapping "I'm Done" does not complete your payment request. Be sure to continue through the remaining prompts and submit your payment request.
If you want more information on this, you can review this article: How to Request Payment
Example:
If you tap "I'm Done" at 6:00 PM on Monday, the Customer has until approximately 6:00 PM on Tuesday to confirm payment.
What if it is past the timeframe and I don't see my money?
There could be multiple reasons for this. If your task status says "Done", then the payment was confirmed.
