What Is an Employer of Record (EOR)?
An Employer of Record (EOR) is a third-party organization that takes on the legal responsibility for employees. While you perform your day-to-day tasks for Hyer Customers, the EOR becomes your official employer for tax, payroll, and compliance purposes.
For W2 Taskers on Hyer, the EOR is Ascen.
As the legal employer, Ascen is responsible for:
Payroll processing
Issuing W-2 forms
Withholding federal, state, and local taxes
Providing certain coverage and insurance
Managing onboarding documents, including I-9 and W-4
What Hyer Does
Even though Ascen is your official employer, Hyer still:
Connects you to work opportunities through the Hyer app
Provides the ability to apply to tasks and receive task offers via the Hyer app
Maintains compliance with the Hyer Terms of Use and the Hyer Standard
Supports you through the Help Center and Tasker Support
Who Directs Work?
You still:
Apply and accept work for scheduled tasks
Complete tasks directly for Hyer Customers
Follow Hyer platform guidelines and expectations
