If you didn't pass your background check or believe your background check contains incorrect information, the next steps depend on your situation.
I Did Not Pass My Background Check
If your background check results return as failed, you will receive information about your report by email, including a copy of your report and any applicable information about your rights or next steps.
If the information contained in your report is accurate, submitting a dispute does not guarantee that your eligibility will change.
There's Incorrect Information on My Background Check
If you believe information on your background check is incorrect, incomplete, or does not belong to you, you can dispute the information directly with Checkr, Hyer's third-party background check provider.
Examples may include:
- A criminal record that does not belong to you
- Incorrect case or disposition information
- Records that contain incorrect personal information
- Other information in your report that you believe is inaccurate
How Do I Dispute Incorrect Information?
To dispute information on your background check:
- Log in to the Checkr Candidate Portal (https://candidate.checkr.com/login/email).
- Review your background check report.
- Select Report an Error at the bottom of the report.
- Follow the prompts to identify the information you believe is incorrect.
- Provide any requested information or supporting documentation.
Checkr will review your dispute and communicate with you regarding its status and outcome.
If your background check report is updated as a result of the dispute, your eligibility may be reviewed based on the updated information.
Can Hyer Correct My Background Check?
No. Hyer cannot change, remove, or correct information contained in your background check report.
If information in your report is inaccurate, you must dispute it directly with Checkr.
Will I Get a Refund If I Don't Pass?
No. Background check fees are non-refundable once the background check is in progress or completed, regardless of the results.
The background check fee covers the cost of processing the report and does not guarantee eligibility to work 1099 Tasks through Hyer.
