Your pay is calculated based on the type of task you work. There are two types of tasks on Hyer:
- 🕒 Hourly = Paid for time worked
- 📦 Flat/Fixed Fee = Paid for the amount/quantity of work completed
📌 IMPORTANT:
- What does the Estimated Duration mean? The estimated duration shown on a Flat/Fixed Fee Task is not the number of hours you are being paid for. It is only an estimate of how long the work may take.
- Checking In and Out with management. For supervised Tasks, you must check in and out with management to ensure you understand the work assigned to you and confirm what was completed. If you do not check out, the Customer may determine payment based on the work they can confirm was completed.
| Flat/Fixed Fee Task 📦 | Hourly Task 🕒 | |
|---|---|---|
| You are paid for | Amount/Quantity of work completed | Time spent working |
| Examples | Cases, carts, activities, deliveries, scans | Hours/minutes worked |
| Does time determine your pay? | ❌ No | ✅ Yes |
| If you finish faster | You still receive the payment for the work completed | You're paid for time worked |
| If you take longer | You do not receive more just because it took longer | Your pay is based on approved hours worked |
Flat/Fixed Fee Tasks
Flat Fee and Fixed Fee mean the same thing. With a Flat/Fixed Fee Task, you are paid based on the amount of work you complete — not how long you are at the location.
Depending on the task, work may be measured by:
- Activities
- Cases
- Carts
- Deliveries
- Other quantities listed in the Task details
Flat/Fixed Fee Example: If a task offers $90 to complete 300 cases, the $90 is for completing all 300 cases. It is not an hourly rate.
| 📦 Work completed | 🕒 Time spent | 💲 Payment |
|---|---|---|
| 1 of 3 activities | 3 hours |
$20 |
| 3 of 3 activities | 3 hours |
$60 |
| 3 of 3 activities | 1 hour |
$60 |
📌 Important Notes for Flat/Fixed Fee Tasks:
- Time spent on-site does not determine your payment. The amount of work completed does.
- Do not dispute a flat/fixed fee task stating "but I worked the whole time". Working the entire time does not change how a Flat/Fixed Fee task is paid. A payment dispute based only on the amount of time spent on-site is not valid because payment is based on the amount of work completed, not time worked.
Hourly Tasks
Hourly Tasks are paid based on the amount of time worked at the rate shown in the Task details. Review the Task details and check with on-site management to confirm whether any breaks are paid or unpaid.
Hourly Example: The task is posted for 8 hours of work at $18/hour, for a total of $144 you can earn. If you are on-site for 8 hours and take a 30-minute unpaid lunch, your payout will be based on 7.5 hours, not 8.
📌 Important Notes for Hourly Tasks:
- If the task includes an unpaid break or meal period, that unpaid time is not included in your payment.
- You are only paid for the time you are actively working. Additional or unauthorized breaks and time spent away from the work area may not be paid.
- You must remain on-site and actively work during your reported hours.
- Always check out with management before leaving. If you leave without checking out, the Customer may determine your end time based on when they can confirm you stopped working.
