Communication is key to a successful task. The in-app chat feature allows you to message a Tasker before, during, or after a task. This article outlines when to use the chat, what to avoid, and how to ensure everything stays professional and efficient.
🔔 How Chat Notifications Work
When you send a message through the app:
- The Tasker receives an in-app notification.
- If their push notifications are enabled, they’ll also receive a push alert.
✅ When to Use Chat
Use the chat feature to:
- Respond when a Tasker messages you through the app
- Locate a Tasker if they are on-site but hard to find
- If the Tasker hasn’t requested payment but has left the task site
- Confirming what the Tasker is working on or providing further task instructions
- Answering the Tasker's questions or arrival times
- If you want a standard message to be sent out for certain task types, we can create automated chats that are sent out, so you don’t have to do it each time. Talk to your field operations liaison to get this set up.
🚫 When to Avoid Using the Chat
Avoid using chat if:
- The Tasker is being combative, harassing, or unprofessional
If this happens, avoid responding and reach out to Customer Support (support@gohyer.com) immediately to make them aware of the situation. If needed, Customer support can turn off the chat for that task.
How to see if you have a message from a Tasker
You will see an alert in the bottom toolbar.
How do I message the Tasker?
-
Open the task.
-
Tap the chat bubble icon in the top right corner.
Are chats monitored by Hyer?
Yes, all chats within the app are attached to the task and archived. Certain chats may be flagged if certain words are used to have a Hyer employee investigate.
What to do if a Tasker is being combative or unprofessional in the chat
If a Tasker is ever expressing themselves in an unprofessional manner, reach out to Customer Support immediately so we can investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
