Taskers may cancel tasks for multiple reasons. At times they may reach out to you in the chat or call you if your phone number is visible and explain why, and other times, they may simply cancel the task.
What does the Tasker see, and what do I see when a Tasker cancels the task?
On the Tasker's end, the task will move to their archived tasks and show a task status of βCanceled.β On your end, you will receive a notification ποΈ in alerts, and after clicking on it, you can select another Tasker for that specific task.
What if I schedule a Task with Less than 6 hours' notice, and the Tasker cancels?
When You schedule a Tasker with Less than 6 hours notice, and the Tasker cancels, they will Not receive a breach. This is because they were scheduled so close to the start time, and the Tasker may not have had time to make arrangements ποΈ to go to the task. If the Tasker no-shows in this instance, the same will apply that they would not receive a breach (this is for a Public task.)
Example: A Tasker applies for a task that starts at ποΈ 5 a.m. on Friday. At 11 p.m. ποΈ on Thursday, the manager selects this Tasker. If the Tasker cancels this, they wonβt be penalized because they may not have had enough time to prep since it was last minute and within 6 hours.
What if a Tasker is scheduled for a task and selected with More than 6 hours notice, and then the Tasker cancels within 6 hours from the start time of that task?
They Will receive a breach on their account and a zero-star rating because they were selected far enough in advance and did not cancel with enough notice. To learn more about breaches, click ποΈ here.
What should I do if a Tasker cancels a task? Can I get someone else to fill the task?
Absolutely! Select another Tasker that applied. Pro Tip: If it is close to the task's start time, it may be helpful to edit (push out) the start time of the task and to send the newly selected Tasker a message through chat or call them to help notify the Tasker that they were selected.
Notes: ποΈ
The Tasker should never reach out to you to ask you to cancel a task for them to avoid receiving a breach. However, if the Tasker does reach out, it is up to your discretion if you choose to cancel the task for them and mark it where they wonβt get a breach. You may also advise the Tasker that they must cancel it on their end.
