There may be times when you need to cancel a task or remove a scheduled Tasker due to changes in your business needs, staffing requirements, or task availability.
When canceling, it's important to select the appropriate option and cancellation reason to avoid unnecessarily issuing a breach to the Tasker's account. If canceling a task the same day, please use the chat to explain why to the Tasker.
How Do I Cancel a Scheduled Tasker?
See screenshots at the bottom of the article.
- Open the task in the Hyer app.
- Tap the three dots (...) in the upper-right corner.
- Select one of the following options:
- Cancel This Tasker: Removes the scheduled Tasker but keeps the task open for other applicants.
- Cancel This Tasker and Delete Task: Removes the scheduled Tasker and deletes the task so no other Taskers can apply.
- Select the appropriate cancellation reason.
- Provide an explanation for the cancellation.
- Tap Submit to complete the cancellation.
How Do I Cancel a Tasker Without Giving Them a Breach?
If you are canceling a Tasker for reasons unrelated to their performance or behavior, select Unschedule Tasker; No Policy Breach as the cancellation reason. See screenshots at the bottom of the article.
Examples include:
- A shipment did not arrive as expected.
- There is no work available for the Tasker.
- Your business needs have changed, and the task is no longer required.
- You need to reschedule the work for another day.
Important: Selecting another cancellation reason will result in a breach being issued to the Tasker's account.
Breaches can negatively affect a Tasker's account and may result in restrictions on their ability to apply for future tasks.
What Happens When I Cancel a Task?
Once the cancellation is submitted:
- The Tasker receives a notification that their scheduled task has been canceled.
- The canceled task moves to the Archived section of the Tasker's app.
- If you selected Cancel This Tasker, the task remains available for other applicants.
- If you selected Cancel This Tasker and Delete Task, the task is removed, so no additional Taskers can apply.
What If I Need the Tasker to Return on Another Day?
If your business needs change and you would like the Tasker to return on a different date:
- Cancel the original scheduled task using the 'unschedule tasker; no olicy breach' reason.
- Create a new task for the correct date and time.
- Send the Tasker a private offer if you would like to invite them back.
Remember: Taskers may only work tasks they are officially scheduled to complete in the Hyer app.
Best Practices for Canceling Tasks
Whenever possible:
- Cancel tasks as soon as you know the work is no longer needed.
- Avoid last-minute cancellations that may unnecessarily inconvenience Taskers.
- Use the appropriate cancellation reason to prevent incorrect breaches.
- Review your staffing needs before posting tasks to reduce unnecessary cancellations.
- Avoid repeatedly leaving tasks open without selecting Taskers.
Frequent or last-minute cancellations can affect your task fill rate and may discourage Taskers from applying for future opportunities.
