What is Occupational Accident Insurance (OAI)?
Occupational Accidental Insurance (OAI) insures independent contractors (Taskers) for covered injuries that happen in connection with tasks on the Hyer application. OAI provides benefits for medical expenses, disability, loss of life, survivor payments, dismemberment, and paralysis for Covered Injuries directly caused by an occupational accident.
The Hyer app only provides coverage for scheduled Taskers (a Tasker must be scheduled/assigned to the task.) Taskers assisting a customer without being scheduled, or those present at a task location without an assignment, are not covered.
What benefits are included in Occupational Accident insurance?
If you become injured while performing on-demand services on the Hyer platform, you may be eligible for the following benefits:

- Accidental Death: to a maximum of $50,000
- Survivors' Benefit: to a maximum of $150,000
- Accidental Dismemberment: to a maximum of $200,000

What to do in case of Injury or Medical Episode
- Follow your standard HR guidelines or store protocols for injury reporting to keep a record of the incident.
- Contact the appropriate services if needed, or send the Tasker to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room.
- Record all details pertinent to the incident for internal records.
- Quickly notify Hyer Support of the incident by emailing (support@gohyer.com) us the details surrounding the incident, as we want to ensure the tasker has the information to make an OAI claim if needed.
