When posting a task on Hyer, you can choose to make it either Public or Private.
The main difference is who can see the task and how Taskers are selected to work.
Public vs. Private Tasks
| Public Tasks | Private Tasks |
|---|---|
| Visible to eligible Taskers within a 50-mile radius of the task location. | Sent directly to specific Taskers or a group of Preferred Taskers. |
| Taskers apply to express interest in working. | Invited Taskers can accept or decline the task. |
| You review applicants and select who to schedule. | The first Tasker to accept is automatically scheduled. |
What Is a Public Task?
Public Tasks are visible to eligible Taskers within a 50-mile radius of the task location.
Interested Taskers can apply, allowing you to review applicants and select the Tasker you want to schedule.
Public Tasks are a good option when you want to:
- Reach a larger pool of available Taskers.
- Review multiple applicants before making a selection.
- Choose the Tasker who best fits your task requirements.
What Is a Private Task?
Private Tasks allow you to send task invitations directly to specific Taskers or a group of Preferred Taskers.
When a Private Task is sent:
- Selected Taskers receive the task invitation.
- Taskers can accept or decline the offer.
- The first Tasker to accept is automatically scheduled.
If a Tasker declines the invitation, you'll receive a notification and can select another Tasker.
Private Tasks are a good option when you want to:
- Offer work to Taskers you've worked with previously.
- Invite specific Taskers to complete a task.
- Schedule a Tasker without manually reviewing applicants.
How Do I Create a Private Task?
You can make a task private during the final step of task creation.
- Create your task as usual.
- On the "Post This Task" page, select "Choose Taskers."
- Review the available Taskers who match your selected task category.
- Select the Tasker or Taskers you want to invite.
- Send the Private Task invitation.
You can also sort available Taskers and mark individuals as Preferred Taskers for future tasks.
