Yes. Taskers are required to complete a background check before becoming eligible to work tasks through Hyer.
Background checks help maintain a safe and reliable platform for both Customers and Taskers.
How Are Background Checks Conducted?
Background checks are completed by third-party screening providers, depending on the type of task:
- 1099 Independent Contractor Tasks: Criminal background checks are conducted through Checkr, Hyer's third-party background check provider. These checks may include national, county, and local criminal record searches.
- W2 Tasks: Taskers must complete a separate background check through Ascen, Hyer's Employer of Record, as part of the W2 onboarding process.
Taskers must satisfy the applicable background check requirements before they can become eligible to work.
