Why Proper Location Settings Are Required

If your location is turned off or not permitted, your photos won’t be geotagged.

Without geotags, the customer may dispute your work.

Disputed tasks can lead to a loss or reduction of payment.
- Will cause the payment review to take longer and will allow the Customer 72 hours instead of the normal 24 hours to confirm payment.
🤖 Android
Enable Geotagging and Location for Photos for Android

Open Settings → Privacy / Location, ensure Location Services is ON

Choose App Permissions → find Camera → set to “Allowed all the time”

Then go to Settings → Apps → Hyer → Permissions → Location → select Allow all the time / Always. You may also have to toggle on Precise location.

Changing your default setting from the Gallery app to the Photos app
- Swipe down from the top of the phone to select the 'Settings' icon
- Scroll down and select 'Apps'
- Next to the search bar, click the three vertical dots and hit 'Default apps'
- Tap the default that you want to change. If it shows that the Gallery app is your default, you will want to go to the Photo app and choose that as your default.
📱 IOS (iPhone)
Enable Geotagging and Location for Photos for IOS
- Go to your phone's 'Settings' → 'Privacy & Security' → Location Services → ensure it is ON
- Scroll to Camera → set permission to While Using / Always
- In Settings → Location Services → Hyer app, set to Always
- If “Location” is grayed out, return to Settings → Privacy / Location Services and enable Location Services globally
Troubleshooting Tips
| Problem | What to Check / Fix |

| Location setting is grayed out | Make sure the main Location Services toggle is ON in device settings |
| App still not geotagging | Check that Hyer’s location permission is “Always” and that Camera permission includes location data |
| Photo upload errors (Android) | Use the Photo app instead of Gallery to attach images |
| You changed settings mid-task | Restart the Hyer app or device to force settings refresh |
Please note that if you do not have your location settings enabled, this may affect the Customer's ability to confirm that the work was completed, and they may dispute the task, ultimately resulting in non-payment. Each Customer has the right to dispute any task that is not completed or does not meet all the task requirements.
