Hyer Assist allows Customers to report attendance, conduct, and task performance issues by issuing a breach on a Tasker’s account.
A breach means a Tasker has violated Hyer’s policies or the Hyer Standard. Breaches can also affect a Tasker’s account standing and ability to use the platform (which can cause their account to be restricted or even permanently disabled), so it is important to select the correct reason and clearly explain what happened.
📌 Note that Hyer Assist is not a messaging tool or a place to leave general notes; it is solely for issuing a breach to the Tasker's account. The Tasker is also not able to view any comments left in Hyer Assist. Hyer Assist comments are only visible to Hyer Support.
If you require additional assistance with the tasker/task or need to report something to Hyer, please email us at support@gohyer.com.
When should I use Hyer Assist?
Use Hyer Assist to document issues such as:
- Late arrival: The Tasker arrived after the scheduled start time.
- No-Show: The Tasker did not arrive for their scheduled task.
- Unprofessional conduct: The Tasker behaved unprofessionally, violated the posted dress code, engaged in any type of altercation, arrived under the influence, or appeared to be under the influence of a substance. (Usually, in this case, it is also good to email us to let us know about your experience.)
- Task abandonment: The Tasker walked off the task or left without communicating with you or on-site management.
- Incomplete or unsatisfactory work: The Tasker did not complete the task as directed or failed to follow the posted task instructions.
- Task performance: The Tasker does not follow the posted task instructions, does not complete the work as directed, or leaves the work area messy.
These are examples, not a complete list. If you are unsure whether to issue a breach, contact Customer Support.
When should I Not use Hyer Assist?
Do not use Hyer Assist for:
- Messaging the Tasker or Hyer to ask for help or provide directions: Use the Tasker chat to communicate with the Tasker or email Hyer at support@gohyer.com for help with anything else.
- Internal notes: Use an internal note on the Tasker’s profile to share information with others within your organization.
- Accidental payment errors: Email Hyer support in this case.
- Business-related cancellations: Do not issue a breach because a shipment did not arrive, there is no work available, or your staffing needs have changed. You would want to cancel the task without a breach for any of these reasons.
- Missing 'On The Way' status: A Tasker who has not tapped On The Way may still arrive on time. Do not mark them as a No-Show before the scheduled start time for the task.
If you need to cancel a Tasker for a business-related reason, follow How to Cancel a Scheduled Tasker Without Giving Them a Breach.
What if a Tasker tells me they cannot make it?
Taskers are responsible for canceling their own scheduled tasks through the Hyer app. Messaging you does not cancel their task.
Direct the Tasker to cancel through the app, or if you wish, you may also cancel the task. If a tasker cancels within 6 hours of the scheduled start time, it generally results in a Late Cancellation breach and a zero-star rating on their account. Limited exceptions apply to certain tasks scheduled on short notice.
If you need help managing the task afterward, contact Customer Support.
How do I issue a breach through Hyer Assist?
- Select the three dots (…) in the upper-right corner of the task.
- Select Hyer Assist.
- Choose the reason that accurately describes the issue.
- Complete the Explain Below section.
- Select Submit.
What should I include in my comments?
Explain what happened using clear, factual details. Depending on the situation, include:
- The scheduled start time and actual arrival or departure time.
- The work or instructions that were not completed.
- The specific behavior or conduct, if it is related to the breach.
Comments are vital for Hyer to understand the concern and determine whether additional action or follow-up is needed.
Can I issue a breach if the Tasker completed the task?
Yes. A Tasker can receive a breach for an attendance, conduct, or performance issue even if they completed the task.
Select the reason that matches what happened and explain the issue in your comments.
How does a breach affect the Tasker?
Breaches can affect a Tasker’s account standing and may result in temporary restrictions or permanent deactivation from the Hyer platform.
No-Shows and Late Cancellations automatically result in a zero-star rating for the task.
What if I issued a breach by mistake?
Contact Customer Support to request a review. Include:
- The Tasker’s name.
- The task ID.
- What happened, and an explanation of why you are requesting the breach to be removed.
For example, let Support know if you accidentally issued a breach when canceling because no work was available.
Can Customers receive breaches?
No. Customer accounts do not receive breaches. However, Taskers can rate their experience working a task for you.
