At Hyer, safety and trust are our top priorities. To help ensure a secure and reliable platform for both Taskers and Customers, all new applicants must complete a criminal background check. If delivery tasks are available, a Tasker must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to apply.
Hyer’s background check is provided by a third party, Checkr, and includes national, county, and local database searches. Criminal background checks can take anywhere between 2 and 14 days, depending on our individualized assessment of the results.
Criminal Background Check - All Applicants
A determination on whether an applicant is eligible to become a Tasker on the Hyer platform is made on a case-by-case basis. An applicant, however, will be ineligible to accept job requests on the Hyer platform if, among other things, the background check results reveal convictions (including pending) for any of the following:
- Homicide
- Violence
- Sexual Offense
- Security (Terrorism Or Treason)
- Drug-related Offense
- Theft Or Property Damage
- Concealed Weapons/No Permit
Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) Check (Delivery Tasks Only)
In order to qualify for a Delivery Task, Taskers need to have a valid Driver’s License, access to a vehicle, and proof of insurance. They also need to undergo a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check provided by Checkr, that includes driving history as reported from the state's Department of Motor Vehicles or similar government entity that issues driver licenses. If you do not pass the MVR check, you may still be eligible for non‑delivery tasks as long as your criminal background check is clear.
Determinations on whether a Tasker is eligible for Delivery Tasks on the Hyer platform are made on a case-by-case basis. An applicant, however, will be ineligible to accept Delivery job requests on the Hyer platform if, among other things, the MVR check results reveal any of the following:
- Major violations – Driving under the influence (DUI), Hit and Run, Street Racing
- Multiple accidents, instances of distracted driving
Hyer reserves the right to disqualify a provider at any time should their background check reveal any of the above items or for any other safety-related reason at Hyer's sole discretion.
If you do not pass your background check, you'll receive a copy via email and instructions on how to contest the results.
Note: The cost of your background check is your responsibility, no matter how the results come out. Hyer does not provide refunds for background checks that are in progress or complete.
