Daylight Saving Time always begins the second Sunday in March and ends the first Sunday in November.
Spring Forward
States that participate in Daylight Savings will turn their clock forward at 2 AM on Sunday, March 13th, 2022. That means that if you are looking at your watch when it says 2 AM, it is really 3 AM.
Fall Back
Fall Back is similar, for participating states, at 2 AM. on Sunday, November 6th, 2022, the clock will roll back to be 1 AM.
How does this affect you?
- Task Start Times: Most cell phones will automatically adjust at 2 AM. but if you use a manual clock, you need to be sure to adjust it before going to bed to ensure you make it to your task in time.
- Hourly Tasks: If you are working an hourly task between the hours of 12 AM-3 AM, you may have to check with the customer how this may affect your pay. For example, (Spring Forward) if you are scheduled for an 8-hour shift, you may only be working 7 hours and get paid accordingly. Likewise for Fall Back, if you are scheduled for an 8-hour shift, you may actually be working 9 hours and get paid accordingly.
