Getting Paid And Bank Holidays

What happens when there is a 🏛️ bank holiday, or if a bank holiday falls on a Monday, and how does it affect how you get paid? 

Payment Confirmation:

• After the Customer confirms payment, the funds are immediately deposited into your Stripe account.

Money in Stripe Account:

• Funds stay in your Stripe account until:

  1. Instant Payout is requested (fees and restrictions apply) OR
  2. Weekly Payout is processed by default.

• Weekly Payout Timeline:

  • Each Monday, Stripe collects payments confirmed by Customers from the previous Monday to Sunday.
  • The transfer process starts on Monday and deposits to your bank that Wednesday of the same week. (This is similar to how payroll systems gather and prepare paychecks before issuing them.)

Bank Holidays and How it Affects the Weekly Payout:

When there is a bank holiday, it is up to that banking institution when funds will be released. This may result in a delay in payment for 1 business day. Remember, every institution is different, and you should check with your bank for any pending payments.

When a Bank Holiday falls on a Monday 

• General Note on Delays:
  If there is a bank holiday, payouts may be delayed by 1 business day, depending on your bank's schedule.

• When a Bank Holiday Falls on a Monday:

  • Stripe will adjust the payout period:
    • The payout will cover Monday through Friday at 4 PM (ET) of the previous week.
    • The next payout will then cover Saturday through the holiday Monday.

• When a Bank Holiday Falls on a Wednesday:

  • The payout for that week will occur on the following business day.
